  • May: The group was awarded 2017 ASCR Leadership Computing Challenge (ALCC) allocation from the U.S. Department of Energy (146 million process hours). Yongchul is a co-PI of the proposal.

  • May: Yongchul, Soomyung, Chungsik attends Supercomputing Center Workshop hosted by KISTI in Daejeon.

  • May: Yongchul visits Department of Chemistry at UNIST for department seminar.

  • April: Yongchul gives invited talk at Spring Korea Carbon Society Meeting in Changwon.

  • March: Yongchul visits Department of Chemistry at POSTECH for department seminar.

  • December: Yongchul gives an invited talk at MOF and Beyond 2016, hosted by Korean Chemical Society.

  • October 21: The group was awarded a 3-year funding (~$43,000 per year) from National Research Foundation of Korea through 기본연구지원사업 (2016R1D1A1B039934484).

  • October 14: A paper titled "In silico discovery of metal-organic frameworks for precombustion CO2 capture using a genetic algorithm", is published in Science Advances! Prof. Sir J. Fraser Stoddart, who was awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, was also part of the team in making this paper possible.

  • April 28: Yongchul gives an invited talk at the spring Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers (KIChE) meeting at BEXCO in Busan, Korea.

  • March 2: The group was found at Pusan National University in Busan, Korea (South).

  • Jan 21: Yongchul visits the Chemical Engineering department at Case Western Reserve University.
